The pole is of improved pattern, combining the advantages of the pole-weight and needle-pole. The tracing point has also been improved; its construction can be clearly seen in the cuts. These Planimeters are also equipped for finding the mean height of indicator diagrams, as the tracer arm can be easily adjusted to the length of the base, by placing the tracer point at the right-hand end of the base, and sliding it in its sleeve until the other end of the base becomes visible in the centre of the small opening in the pole bearing, the pole arm being removed.
